Since a little girl Kayla's always had a love and a passion for animals. Originally enrolled after graduation to become a dental assistant, she took her family dog in to get groomed and walked out with the opportunity to enrol in a program to become a groomer. To date Kayla is a Certified Canine Master Groomer, Certified Feline Master Groomer and Certified in Pet First Aid. She began grooming in 2012 and has never looked back.
Although she grooms all breeds of dogs and cats, Kayla's specialities have always been aimed more towards aggressive and timid animals. She is always up for a challenge and her calming nature will make your fur baby feel at ease in no time and they will leave feeling pampered and special.
She is inseparable with her dog Duke, a beagle shepherd, also the operations manager at the salon! Alongside Duke and Kayla's adventures you'll find her supportive boyfriend Logan and his dog Cooper, a pitbull staffy. On days off you'll find the four of them outdoors engaging in something exciting or spending time with family. With the help of her family her dreams of owning her own shop became a reality. Through the late nights, renovations, sweat, tears and laughs "Off The Leash, Pet Grooming, Inc...is Paws down the best in town!"
My passion for animals made my career goal simple. I wanted to help and be around as many animals as I could (sounds fun right). I got my first vet clinic job out of high school and enjoyed it so much I wanted to learn more so I enrolled in the Veterinary Medical Receptionist program at Olds College. A year after finishing the course I wanted to try something new that also allowed me to still work and be around animals. That's when I found Off the Leash. Kayla willingly took me in to be a part of their team and it's been the best experience. At the shop, you'll most likely find me bathing your little fur babies and playing with the dogs in daycare.
Alongside me you'll find my buddy Marlo, a German Shepard mix. On the off days, you can catch us at the farm working with the horses and hanging out with all the other animals, while still making time for family and friends who never fail to support me and all my life goals.
I have always loved going to work no matter what I was doing going to work has made me excited having a job to do has always been something I enjoyed from working with cattle to driving heavy equipment but everyday when I went to work I felt like something was missing I missed me dogs and after working as a kennel attendant for my aunt I realized how much more I loved my work when I also loved every single thing I did and decided to get a job where I can work with dogs every day! Kayla and Casey brought me in with open arms and taught me so much, working at off the leash has been an amazing experience working with dogs all shapes sizes and personalities has opened my mind and taught me more then I could imagine! Beside me you will see my 3 fur babies Zorro, Tuff, and Remi on days off we are hiking, playing fetch, and messing around on the farm!
For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for animals and specifically dogs. This love grew into wanting a job/career in the animal industry. In 2017 I got a job at another daycare in the city. After staying there for almost a year and a half, I was ready for a new start. I began calling local groomers and doggy daycares and got lucky enough to be welcomed to the OTL team!
At the shop, you’ll catch me in the back supervising and playing with the dogs as well as keeping the space clean and safe for all the pups! Alongside working at OTL, I am also a fulltime student at the University of Regina. Currently working towards a science degree, my long-term goal is to go to veterinary school to become a mixed animal veterinarian. Since starting at Off the leash, I have considered enrolling in a dog grooming course to begin grooming while I am in school.
Where you find me, you will often find my dog Shianne. A 7-year-old Bullmastiff, Rottweiler cross. When I am not working or catching up on homework, you can find Shianne and I doing something adventurous outdoors; usually on the quad.
